About Google Chromebook

A chromebook is a personal PC running on Google Chrome OS as its operating system. The devices are designed to remain used whereas connected towards the internet and support applications that reside inside the web, instead of traditional PC applications like Microsoft Office or Adobe Photoshop that reside inside the machine itself.

The very first few Chromebooks to buy, by Acer Inc. and Aamsung, were announced for the Google I/O conference in May 2011 and began shipping on 15 June 2011. Lenovo, Hewlett Packard and Google itself entered the market in early 2013. Additionally to laptop models, a desktop version, known as a Chromebox, was introduced in May 2012.

Chromebooks are primarily sold on-line, each directly from Google and direct from company's retail partners. By 2012, schools had become the largest class of customer.

Chromebook Series 3, C7

In October 2012, the series 3 chromebook was introduced in a San Francisco event with the Samsung Chromebook XE303. The device was priced at $249 and was thinner and lighter compared to the firmly Chromebook 550. Google marketed the series 3 just like the laptop for everybody, thanks to its simple operating system (Chrome OS) and cheap value. target markets included students and first-time laptop users, as well as households wanting to have an additional laptop.

The lower value proved a watershed for a few reviewers. New York Times technology columnist David Pogue reversed his earlier thumbs-down verdict inside the chromebook, writing that $250 changes everything. the value is half that associated with an ipad, even below an ipad mini or an ipod touch. and you’re receiving a laptop. He wrote that the chromebook does several on your things individuals use computers and laptops for: taking part in flash videos, and opening Microsoft Office documents. In different words, Google is correct when it asserts that the chromebook is good for schools, second computers in homes and businesses who deploy numerous machines.

CNETS review on the series 3 chromebook was all the more favorable, saying the machine largely delivered just like a laptop for students and as a further laptop and get a household--especially for users that are already using Google web applications like Google Docs, Google Drive, and Gmail. Its got workable if not standout hardware, its battery our life is sensible, it switches on quickly, and also the $249 value tag means that its not as much associated with a commitment just like the $550 Samsung series 5 550 that arrived in May. The review subtracted points for performance. Its fine for several tasks, however power users accustomed to having a little over some dozen browser tabs open should steer clear.
